I have a small 2 month old chick, who's leg us slowed bc of her crooked leg. I have been keeping her with her sisters, they're all the same age, but they've really outgrown her. She's much smaller than them, and needs help to get food and water.
But that's not the issue. When I went out to feed them tonight, I noticed some blood on the right side of her head. I was a bit worried, so I checked the other side and found a large red sore. I decided to bring her inside to doctor her. I applied some Neosporin to her sores, and gave her some food. She was willing to eat after I applied it.
I put her in a large plastic dog crate with a piece of folded fleece for her to sit on for the night, but now I'm debating whether I should separate her from her sisters or not. As I said before, even though they are the same age, she's much smaller than them. I'm thinking about just separating her until her sores heal, but I might have to separate her permanently.
I'm worried about her getting hurt again, since she's so much smaller than them, but I don't like the idea of separating her. So I guess I would like to know of I should separate her, and possibly get some tips for doctoring her sores. I'll try to get some pics of her sores later on, but for now I'll lost some pics to show the size difference. Thanks.
