young hen with a comb issue D:

my facvorite white black tail hen, Hope is the runt, and the bigger birds pecked her comb off..will she be ok?

She should be fine Kennedy (that is you're name correct?). Unless you mean it is completely ripped off. Then try putting some ointment on it.. Maybe neosporin? And watch her closely.. Might not hurt to seperate her as well.

Make sure that the neosporin does not have the lidocaine in it because it is toxic to chickens. You may want to get some no pick lotion, too, to keep them from pecking at it. Try to keep her in with the others as much as possible. If you separate her, things may get worse.

If they are pecking at her because they are bored, try hanging a head of cabbage by a thick string or rope so that it swings. They will peck at it instead.
