Hello...I have a young hen that had a crossed beak when we got her we trimmed alittle off to make it better now she keeps her mouth open all the time she seems to be eating alright but im concerned that her mouth and toung will dry out????

As long as she isn't breathing heavy, where you can see she's having a hard time breathing.... she should be ok... I believe.... unless she stressed out...
you might want to ask a vet... I've hatched out a few cross beaks, who are now going on 6 years old, and have never cut or trimmed the beak, and they eat and drink just fine...
I don't personally know if a beak can get an infection after being trimmed, you might to ask a vet.
Maybe show some pictures of her...?

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I am sorry about your hen! Crossbeaks can have a host of issues, some sort of genetic mis-coding going on in their bodies.

Definitely post in our emergency section and have some information ready...her age, the temp at your place, color of her comb, poop color and consistency, condition of her abdomen, (squishy like a water balloon?) when she laid her last egg, ect...

Good luck with your hen and welcome to our roost! :)
