Young possum napping in egg box

Went to check for eggs, imagine my surprise. I think he wandered in there during the day while coop door was open. He was much cuter with his mouth closed. Everybody's OK.

Haha! I bet it kinda surprised you to find that little one in the coop! I once found a gopher snake searching the coop when I went to shut out coop door a while ago... Surprising but funny to see a snake sleeping with my chickens

I bring a bright flashlight out every time I check my nest boxes. If you had just put your hand it there you might have been bitten. Good thing you didn't. If I had been surprised by that I would have probably peed my pants. Be careful.

My husband hates possum. He was in the yard one night, saw one, and started screaming like a teenager in one of those horror movies. Never seen him move so fast. I'm impressed by your fortitude! Find it refreshingly different from what I'm used to around here- LOL!

You can literally trap a sack full of possums by belaboring them around its head and shoulders with a fly swatter. Once the possum sulls up, plays dead, or starts playing possum just resist the urge to give it some sugar. Possums don't like to smooch.
