Hello all,
New member here, been lurking for a few months since we started our backyard chicken flock! We got what we thought was one Leghorn, one barred rock, and two Rhode Island reds. At almost 20 weeks now and still no eggs. Worrying they're all roos!
But one red in particular is pretty obvious; all the signs but a friend with experience said it could still be a hen. I'm really not about sure about that!
It has a much bigger comb. More upright posture, skittish but bold, and making noises unlike the others.
Can anyone confirm what I already suspect? Thanks!
Addendum: the buff-colored chicken was the only yellow chick and was supposed to be a Leghorn. That one and the barred rock are the friendliest/least skittish.
We're in Broward County, South Florida. They have a nice sized outside area they get to rhoam in, and I'm starting to let them into the yard for an hour each day for more exploring.
Thanks again! Great website!
