Young roo is walking stiff legged and is in pain

YOUNG Hes Dinner!! or watch him and if he stops drinking and eating get real help if it is worth it to you. Good Luck
Its stupid and useless comments like yours as to why myself and several others don't come on this site anymore. Kill and eat him is your first choice. For those who treat our chickens like they are our babies your comment will hopefully come back at you when you need help the most. Im done with this site and the many people who think its their place to use it for their rotten sense of humor.

Not negating the topic..... but you realize this was from 2011???

I agree. And to the gentleman above... this post might be from 2011, but I still see this all the time in 2020, which is why I stopped coming to this site as well. Unfortunately it’s still the first to pop up when I’m Googling for advice, which much too often turns out to be, “Oh just cull” or “Time for dinner.” WHAT??

We have a hen, Jackie, who’s had similar issues as Oakley for over a year now, probably as a result of having had one of her toes amputated the day we rescued her from slaughter. Her blood work and fecal is clear. We built her a wheel chair. When she gets stiff-legged at the end of the day, we sit her in it with some treats and she’ll wander around the house like that. That’s what we’d do for our cats and dogs, no? We wouldn’t just kill them. We’d figure it out.

I feel sorry for anyone who’s had hens and roosters for as long as they have and still haven’t had the pleasure and honor of discovering what truly amazing friends they make.
