Young Rooster tail?

This is my 5 month old mixed breed x andalusian chicken cross. His name is Kernal! I was wondering though, he had a nice rooster tail feather but it got plucked out by another chicken, now he has no tail, will it ever grow out so he looks like he has a tail?

That is his father, the mixed breed roo. Im not sure whathis mix is, we bought him from a lady near where I live and she didnt know either. Her chickens free ranged and did whatever.

You could try and figure out what he’s mixed with by posting a new thread or putting a few pictures here.

If the feathers got fully plucked out, they should start to regrow very soon.
May also be his last juvenile molt happening.

Where i am at it is still dark this morning, but i will post pictures later of what he looks like. His tail is growing back nicely from what it was!
