young rooster with blood filled testicle

So, I just butchered a young cockerel and one of his testicles is all purple as if it is filled with blood, but it is not swollen or anything. The other one was normal looking, and he was otherwise healthy. Any ideas as to what could be the cause?

Maybe something got twisted, preventing the blood from flowing in or out?
