Young rooster

Their skill and technique will not be the best, and you may get bare backs. And once the rooster gets interested, well they are VERY interested all the time. But they do settle down. I have a 11 month old rooster, and all his hens are bare backed, but he is settling down a bit, and I hope things improve with his age.

There is nothing wrong in eating fertilized eggs. Having a rooster will not make a hen go broody. (nothing can make a hen go broody, it is luck, good or bad).

You do not need a rooster to get eggs.
