Young strutting

What is weird to me is that my female turkey started to strut this spring. She lays eggs so I know she's a she. I don't know if she's trying to show off/ look big around the new chickens or what, but she does the whole tail up/ fanned, wings down thing. It's pretty impressive. I've noticed my 12 week old poult doing that now, too, and his? head is bright red often. Is that a good sign that it's a boy? That would be cool 'cause then C'est la vie would have a boyfriend (we are calling him Gunter). She's been calling the wild turkeys all spring but so far, no takers
