I'm just asking out of sheer curiosity - I know the average age is 16 weeks to 20 or around there. I am curious what the youngest age is that you've ever seen a pullet lay an egg? And did you know the breed?

Some one on here had one lay at 13 weeks, it ended up dying from egg binding in the next few days. 16 weeks is the bare minimum age they *should* lay.
Oh yikes! Yeah I can see how it would be an issue, they just aren't created to lay that early. I was just curious if it had happened to anyone or if there are breeds that lay especially early.

This little girl is laying daily at about 18 weeks. The cutest little blue egg. She’s an ee.
