Your 2025 Garden

Weather was beautiful and warm yesterday. I put the petunias into larger pots. They are loving the natural light in the greenhouse.

Pulled a few weeds around the garlic.

It is supposed to be 80f today. I have a Dr's appointment for a check up. Why could today not be one of the cool rainy days? I'd rather be outside playing in the dirt. Thankfully the long range forecast is looking good.

We have a great sunshine fill day with nice temps soon to be in the 70's. Lots of things to get done today before rains come tomorrow.

I had planted my green peas a few weeks ago. I figured the snow and cold wet ground had rotted the seed.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this! A nice full row on both sides of the fence.

My Spring planting so far:

2/9/25 planted peas, turnips, carrots

2/15/25 forecast for 18°, covered with plastic

2/26/25 sprouting under the plastic!

3/1/25

3/10/25 plastic removed

I've been feeding my collards to the flock, too. They get ecstatic!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I weeded after I got home from work, two beds done.

More await my attention.

I also am preparing the ground for blueberries and elderberries.

February 1, before:

February 8:

Three different varieties of blueberries!

February 28, loosening the soil:

Then it rained, and rained.

March 9, dried out enough to start turning:

Peat moss and compost next!

Got three more beds turned over after work.

This little guy was in the weeds, so I left the fourth bed until tomorrow.

Took the marigolds to the greenhouse to harden them off.
Watered the seedlings still inside.
Took a few photos.
Larger tomatoes will soon go to the GH. The small ones started later will stay inside a bit longer.
Turned off the light for photo.

These grow very slow at first but bloom all summer with little care or water.

High winds interfered with our planting today so maybe we might get some plants in the ground tomorrow.

Very warm and breezy this morning. Storm is on the way.

I had started putting some things outside to soak up some warm temps and sunshine. They are now back inside the greenhouse. We will drop down into the 30's Monday night so they will be there a few days. Sensitive stuff will stay inside.
