Your 2025 Garden

We got 36 collard transplant in the ground late this afternoon. 36 more to go tomorrow afternoon. I need to make a pass with the tiller over the kitchen garden in the morning. Need to get beans and pole beans planted then the okra will be next. I picked up a bottle of neem oil to try to prevent at least the blights on the tomatoes. The broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage is looking good. I been trying to find the stuff that makes the worms swell up and bust when they eat it that is non toxic to anything including us. The single cell plant stuff. If I don't find it Tuesday I'll go with some Captain Jacks Dead Bug killer on the greens. Need to get prepared to fight stink bugs on the tomatoes also. Hate those things that come in droves like they got a written invitation for a banquet.

Be very careful using Neem oil on tomato plants. I tried it to kill spider mites. It killed the spider mites but it also killed the tomato plants.

I planted out my bell peppers and more marigolds in the main garden. Still need to plant out the cayenne in the bed by the greenhouse. Greenbeans and butterbeans are up all the way down the row. I think I'll have cabbage ready this week. Cucumbers are being slow to sprout. Hope the rain helps with this. Tomatoes are getting tall.

DH picked and shelled the peas for me! ❤️ I'll pick more this week. There are lots! I noticed a tiny bit of mildew starting at the bottom of the plants so got to get what we can quick. With the rain over the weekend and expecting more today, the mildew will spread fast. Happens every year.

I've been thinning carrots. Many are baby carrot size with some a bit larger. Tasty too! The chickens just love the greens. Still no signs of voles in the carrots. I think the garlic planted around them is helping with this. Almost time to harvest the garlic too.

Something is stealing strawberries. :duc They are covered with netting. I do not see any holes where voles could have dug in. Green berries have been removed cap and all??? In the past, this was squirrels. But the netting is not disturbed??

Wonder do I need to plant garlic around the berries too?? :lau Maybe I should just start a garlic farm.
