I think my tomatoes are doing good, eh? That soda is in there for perspective. They have to be in a box so Stella the cat doesn't eat them. I see one lower leaf I could remove.

I wrap chicken wire around my table of seedlings. Use duct tape to attach and then I dont have to worry. Otherwise, my cats main mission in life is to eat my seedlings..if you dont have a small fan going on them some, you may want to consider it.

Oh, they've got a hardware cloth frame hubby made for them, I posted earlier.

She had eaten most of them but I rescued 1 in each pot.

They're outgrowing that box though so may use your chicken wire idea next!

Beautiful! The bottom left is going to be amazing, what kinds?
Thanks! That one's a micro cherry tomato, Tiny Tim I think? The others are Rutgers.

Uh oh, hubby's running out to the garage to get a finch cage we have out there and haven't used in a decade. He thinks it will be a great cover for them for their life. I'll definitely have to see this myself, and if it's not too embarrassing, I'll share lol.

Lol! That's it! I've got to try that. Hmm dog crate/plant nursery?

That's another great idea! We'd have to buy another one though as the XXL one is in the breeding coop for a broody jail. There's about 25 silkie hens and right now, not one is broody though. 😲 Shocker!

The clicker is though, if using a grow light like I am, somehow attaching that inside so it's the right height. That cage is tall so he'll have to figure out something.

Hmm. I just have a grow bulb in a normal lamp, I'd probably put it in the cage and pull the cord out the side!

can you attach wire to the light and wrap it on the cage wires? something like that, you could adjust the height as they grow.
but i'm thinking of the square lights. maybe you're using something else.

last year, i used the little chicken run that came with the prefab coop to put pepper plants in so the chickens didn't dig all the dirt out of the pots.
