Mama loves her! Doesn't bother her a bit that she is obviously "different". It is fascinating to watch mama Minnie

teaching her how to be a chicken, and also flock etiquette 101.

I spent all day Sunday just watching them!

I will. When I hear from her breeder what he thinks I will let you know. I am just delighted that she is a pullet and I can keep her. She is the only chick I have hatched w/a broody, and since Mom Minnie is not a 'good' bantam Dark brown leghorn, I was given them both!

And the answer is.......................................[drum roll]....................................................MALAY pullet. The breeder has 2 breeding pair & both started laying when I was there in June. Since he shows his fowl [and since the breed aren't great layers] I will probably return her to him. I Googled the breed..........the pix were a match! The breed is both rare and threatened, and is one of the oldest breeds known - 3500 years +or-. Those who guessed Aseel - probably cousins and a toss-up which breed is older!

She may be show quality, but for sure won't win any beauty contests!
