Hi, I thought it'd be interesting to see everyone's biggest egg that they've gotten since owning chickens. It'd be nice to know how old the chicken was and what breed they are as well, and of course pictures are always welcome. My biggest egg so far is from my ISA Brown Savannah (22 weeks) and it weighed 3oz. I also have a white Leghorn that keeps on laying jumbo 2.5/2.6 oz eggs (20 weeks) and occasionally my ISA Brown Camilla (22 weeks) will give 2.5-2.7 oz jumbo eggs as well.
This is Savannah's egg (all her eggs have little brown spots on them)

Hi, hope you are enjoying BYC! :frow

My biggest eggs were either from girls just coming out of broody or molt. I though I got a big one at 82 grams (norm being 65). Then another girl laid 92 grams. Followed by the 3rd who laid 102 grams! Followed by a 4th (an SFH under 1 year old) who passed from egg binding. :( I quit being excited about unusually large eggs after that. Have to check records to see what their breeds/age were. I know one was a mix breed blue layer. And another was mixed breed as well. Will try to post a pic later.

It is very common for new layers to have double or even triple yolks. Beautiful eggs! :drool

Yeah larger eggs can be interesting (espeically for a new chicken owner who is used to store bought large eggs) but ya gotta feel bad for the chicken who laid it. So sorry that happened, poor girl. :(
I've never gotten or seen a triple yolk, but I do get plenty of double yolks.

Just got these in the last week. All except the white one are from ISA Browns the browns are 5 to 6 months old the white is from my 4 year old Leghorn.
