We are building a 'new' coop this spring. I love this topic!! LOL!

We are taking one peaked roof 10'x10' shed and adding two 8'x8' gambrel roof sheds on either end. This is a really bad exterior drawing I did on Paint. I think you can get the basic idea, though. LOL!

Also, it would be massive, and all of my storage for chicken supplies would be inside, locked away from the chickens. It would also have automatic waterers and pop doors. It would have ample space for several separate flocks (for breeding purposes), and it would have a beautiful fenced in attached run containing several acres. This would allow my chickens to be free as free ranging chickens should be, yet keep my house's porch chicken poop free.

My 'dream chicken farm' would be at least twenty acres of flat, well drained rich soil with a thick sod of drought resistant pasture grasses and perennial peanut mix. I'd have a tight perimeter fence of diamond mesh no-climb wire with similar wire buried along the bottom to prevent predators from digging in. Inside the fence would be at least two experienced Great Pyrenees dogs. There would be wheeled mobile roost and nest houses for the large free ranging flock to use. Water would be available at several points across the pasture.

Off to one side would be an outbuilding that would container the washer/grader and refrigerators to store the eggs until they are delivered. Another similar building would be for feed storage and other necessary supplies.

I don't have any of that, but one day maybe...
