your earliest egg layers?

I'm hoping it's going to be my new mille fleur leghorn breeding flock!

15 weeks for my Golden Buff purchased from Meyer hatchery. The other 5 birds started laying a couple weeks later. I am anxiously awaiting my Americauna hens to lay. they are about 16 weeks now.

Goldie Hen was 16 weeks old when she surprised me with her first egg, 4 days ago! Sex-link Golden, also called Gold Star, I think. She has continued daily, each about 1 ounce. Has a nice bright red comb now. The Dominique is getting redder and wider... probably next?

One of my five Golden Comets started laying on August 1st-she was two days shy of 16 weeks. The first eleven days she laid ten eggs, now nothing for three days. Out of the other four GC only one has laid one egg in all that time. I'm starting to get impatient!

I know that most chickens start laying between 18-24 weeks of age. Rhode Island Reds are 1 of the first. Buffs are on the slower end.

22 weeks 4 days for last years black star. Leghorns and Barred Rock were just days later. RIR's took 24 and 26 weeks.

Pullets this year are 18 weeks today, have color but no squatting as yet.

My girls were sneaky, they were laying a while before I found any eggs. I think someone started laying at around 18 weeks, not sure who it was. Either the barred rock, two RIR's, or the golden comet.
