Hi everyone! I wanna know what all of your fave chicken or fowl breeds are!!
Name at least 3 breeds you positively, absolutely LOVE!! Give a reason why, too.

Leghorns, leghorns, and more leghorns - all varieties. They are easy on the eye (none prettier to me), extremely good layers, and rarely go broody.

OEGBs, Easter Egger mutts, and Production reds.

OEGBs are just adorable little mothers and they go for a lot at auction without eating much. The good roosters are awesome gentlemen. Also, autosexing chicks.

Easter Egger mutts (Wyandotte, Silkie, Australorp crosses) make up the backbone of my flock and go broody often. I happen to like this trait, and the fact that they make great mothers. Their multicolored selves are interesting and all of them look unique. Their green or pink or weirdly grey eggs make a very nice addition when I'm trying to pay for feed by selling eggs. And their combs don't freeze in winter.

Production Reds (And I know I'm going to catch flak for this, but I like them) have a ton of personality, are good producers, and sadly, my oldest hen (Peahen) just started laying lash eggs, so I'm feeling sentimental.

Belgian D’Uccle, super sweet and confident, also gorgeous!

Ameraucana, love their muffs and personalities, as well as their blue eggs.

Light Brahma, fluffy loving giants, super gentle and really cute!

Definitely Buff Orpington and Light Brahma! They are absolutely friendly giants! We love them!

Eggs are easy to candle. Chicks are easier to sex early. They start laying early. Eat less food. Forage well. Avoid predators well.
