I have a couple favorites. Carnations, Roses, pansies, but I think my favorite outdoor flower is a bleeding heart. I like them because to me they look unique, unlike most other flowers that you see. I also like fuschias. The intense contrast of the hot pink against the purple is amazing. I also agree on the clematis. I love the different colors it comes in. I also like black eyed susans, rudbeckia, white daisies, and I have a deep fondness for sunflowers. One of my dearest friends in the world passed away in January of this year and she absolutely loved sunflowers. If you went in her house you would see sunflowers everywhere, on dishtowels, in pictures, on plates, etc. For Christmas one year I made her a wreath filled with sunflowers (artificial of course!) and she hung it in her kitchen above her windows. I think of her when I see them. I plan to grow some in my yard. I can think of her and my chickens can benefit from the seeds. It's a double win. I also like geraniums, begonias, lavender, azalias, and petunias. I've like petunias since I was a little girl. My mom would buy whole flats of them when I was a kid because she said my face would light up every time I saw them. I probably named too many different flowers, but how can you not like all the different colors and smells they produce? Oh, and then there are irises...
