Right now I have a 3:1 ration of hens to roos. As I get into incubating and increasing my flock I'd like to up that ratio as long as it remains reasonable and viable. I'm planning on building three more cages of 4x2 dimensions. One will be a grow out cage but the other two will be for layers. I'm thinking that perhaps a 7:1 ratio is doable as I've seen someone else mention this. But wanted to glean from others experiences.
