Yes I here what you are saying about the color. This entire unit will be totally cover by shade fortunately. I stained it to match another yard piece I have used previously to raise Meat chickens. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/65954_dsc_0251.jpg

I
guess I wanted to know what you think of the set-up as a whole. I used 1/2'' hardware cloth for the floor and entire enclosure. The height inside is 12'' in the center with addtional height on each of the ends where you see the roofing shingles. Both ends have a door for access as well as the two front doors on the front sides with shutters. So the overall coop is very airy. This coop is 8' wide and 3' deep so I'm thinking of keeping 25 quail inside.

My primary goal is for EGGS. So I will most likely go with coturnix. But what I really want is the California Valley Quail or Gambles.
Secondly my use for the quail will be to eat some for supper. I have two large homegrown chickens in the freezer. One is 8 lbs and the other is 11 lbs. So I'll be ok with meat until I can get these quail going. Will this set-up give me the desired eggs I want with 25 quail in it?

How many eggs do you want? I'd say get three more quail than eggs you want in a day.

Yup. Put some females in there, let 'em get accustomed to things and start harvesting eggs.

25 quail should work fine 20 females and 5 males.
Your pen is AWSOME!!!

Just put in 13 coturnix today. 1 Tibon, 4 Golden Speckled, 1 Texas A&M & 7 Coturnix Coturnix. The seller said they were 4 weeks old. I've put them out in the new coop with fresh water and 28% Turkey/Gamebird crubles from ACE HI. I mashed the food a bit more just in case. It is 99 degrees outside right now with an expected low tonight of 70. They are in full shade all day excep 1 hr in the morning at sunrise. They seem to be panting or throttling thier throats with thier beeks open. They were under heat lamps in a lage 16' round brooder when I picked them up from the seller. This is so fun!
