I too have learned a lot from here and am greatful to have someplace to go and learn with people that are dealing with the same things. I have a neighbor who has had chickens for a couple of years and I have been able to tell her a few suggestions for problems she has had.

I work at a very high tech company where we have a lot of really smart employees that wine and dine with clients who are really big online companies (MSN, Fox News, etc.).

I get asked how I know so much about website publishing, online advertising, etc. and I say I own and opperate a plethora of sites. The next question is usually, "Cool, like what?"

My answer: "Well, one of the biggest is www.BackYardChickens.com."

With a stunned look on their face they smile and almost mockingly say, "Um... chickens!?!?"

I then tell them the site gets about 2 million pageviews a month, has a forum of 4,700+ members with 15 new members a day.

That's about when their jaws drop.
