My kids think it is hilarious too and my DH just shakes his head! I can't remember which one of ya'll said it but I still like to think of this forum as our own "Chicken MySpace"!!

Yup, DH thinks I'm odd. Most conversations these days start with "I read on BYC today...". I think it's funny. I like it here, it's nice to have other people who know that chicken doesn't just come in a bucket.

I would NEVER tell my co-workers I'm a member of a chicken forum. Are you kidding? The grief I get from them just HAVING chickens! My sister knows and my parents but that's it!

Well, SpottedCrow, I think that IS what about half the population does use the internet for. I guess it is hard for some to imagine what else the computer is good for.

My BIL (share house with him and sis) has started calling me the 'crazy chicken lady' lately...he sees first hand how much time I spend reading the forum.

Then today, I was bringing in a cup of corn to grind in the coffee grinder to feed the chickens, and as he walked in the door, i somehow spilled half of it on the floor. he said, " now I've got a Corny crazy chicken lady S-I-L!"

it's nice when they put up with it cheerfully!

I work at a law office, and my co-worker split an order of chicks with me. When one of my chicks "turned roo", we decided to do a swap, roo for pullet. So we both brought our chickens to the office so we could take home the other's chick.

Well, our lawyer bosses just thought that was the cutest thing, that two young chickens could sit in a cardboard box in a law office together all day long and behave so well. The lawyers still talk about it to clients. It has to be the only office in town with a history of chick-sitting.

All because of BYC.

Hey, I always smirk when I say I'm on a chicken forum.

But, ya know, I've found chicken people to be very willing to share knowledge, laugh at the goofy stuff and commiserate about the bad stuff. My dh can't very well complain....he has the running forum, biking forum, author's forum and I don't know what else. My friends all think I'm crazy anyway and I have the perfect costume for next Halloween. I'm going as the "crazy chicken lady".

DH and I went to dinner on Halloween, and the hostess said what are ya'll dressed up as.....DH said well she's dressed up like "a crazy chicken" lady and I guess I'm the redneck that married her!
