A few weeks ago (I think it's been about 3 and a half now) my mother and I got chicks from a local tractor supply store. By the time we'd gotten there all of the pullets were gone so we figured we'd take our chances with the mixed gender bin. We picked out 6 adorable Buff Brahma fluff balls and we are hoping that, if any, we only have 1 roo.
These are our first chickens and I would very much like to know what they are if anyone can tell yet. The store said they were only a few days old when we picked them up.
This one I've started to call Butt Feathers because it had started to get it's tail feathers before everyone else. I suspect it's a few days older than the rest because the others are still half fluffy.
The one to the right preening is Butt Feathers. There are 5 in this shot but one is trying to hide under its sibling.
I'll admit they aren't the best photos but it's hard to catch moving targets. Haha
so far their names aren't permanent but based on their different traits they are Butt Feathers, Crybaby, Wonky Wing (because it has one big long feather that sticks out), and The Triplets. I was also wondering what vegies and fruits are safe to feed them. I've already given them apple slices and lettuce leaves.
Thank you
