The shade needs to go with a different base... and in the right setting.
The base is pretty and needs a more chic shade

Just bought a floor lamp with the same affliction. Love the lamp, like the shade, but definitely not together. Fortunately that is pretty easy to fix.

A solid lamp shade, cloth material, OR if you want to go all out, have a glass Tiffany type, with same colors as the lamp itself, gold with gold grapes and white and creme background with gold trimmings.

Me too, had the turn of the century floor lamps with candlebra light fixings with huge globe in the center of the candlebra, huge lampshade, and lighted floor globes, those things are wonderful!​
