Your second favorite breed?

Polish.

I think Ameraucanas will be up there in first place for some time, but Polish follow behind pretty darn close.

(And after that, in a practical tie, would be Shamos)

#1 Faverolles, no contest.
#2 Sussex.

Wyandottes (well bred ones) are up there too, but the Sussex edged them out.

Of course, Dominiques are my one true love... However... I think those little bantam Cochins are SOOOO cute, especially the whites and the mille fleurs. I just want to cuddle with them and name them jigglypuff!

In a perfect world, I would have tons of acreage and unlimited funds and would probably own...

Dominiques, of course
Bantam Cochins - just for fluffy lawn ornaments!
Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks
Dorkings
Oodles of game birds - I know nothing about them, but they're so pretty!
... Not the asils and shamo kinds though.. sorry, they scare me!

hmmm... I'll think of more!

My 1st is Silkies. 2nd would probably be Cochins. I love them. I would have some, but I think it may be too cold here in the winters and I'd worry about their combs freezing. But the brown leghorns combs didn't freeze, and those girls have some massive combs. Hmmm...

I had a wonderful little barred cochin male several years ago from a hatchery. He was the cutest little thing.

1) Rhode island reds- great layers, affectionate and smart (mine would stare through windows and knock at the door for treats, they even learned what the cat door was).

2) Barred rocks - good layers and very curious (they are the only other breed that i've ever had)

What is this white stuff? ...before she found that it was edible and cured the others of the fear of the "white death"

My favorite would have to be Ameracaunas and then Marans then Silkies and then Russian Orloffs. The strange thing is I never owned any of them!
