Your summer plans

We were planning to take a trip down to NC to see my cousin and her new baby girl... but with gas $4.05 here now and still a few months until the house is up to par, I doubt we'll make it down.

So, we're just hanging out at the new house and getting things situated.

suppose to go wit my mom and aunt to Salem MA for a few days in Aug other than that not to much staying home and working.

We are spending the whole summer on a hobby farm, complete with goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and horses. We get to go horseback riding, and spend lazy days beside the pool. there is a huge trampoline for the kids to play on, and don't forget the campfires, complete with roasting marshmallow, and hot dogs. We can tour the surrounding area either on horseback or take the quads out for a ride and when the wind is low, we might be able to go up for a plane ride...............

and all this is happening RIGHT IN MY OWN BACKYARD!!!!!!!!!! Life is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well we are the only ones in the family with a pool. We usually have a huge 4th of July party. We like to wait until fall to head to the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee to do some camping. Other than that we just hang out out home.

Um...camping at the back next week..hanging out at home...camping in the mountains next month....hanging out at home...taking an online class....road trip to Montana maybe....

In between campaigns and politic related things, I'll be here. OH. Except, a week from today, I'm going to stay with my sister in Texas for eight days...Schlitterbahn, Six Flags, Ripley's, Cold War Air Museum, camping, water skiing...yeah, that stuff. Then it's back home.

I'm not sure. My mom and dad are not doing very well so my siblings and I take turns staying with them. Someone has to be with them 24 hrs a day. My mom was in the hospital for a month so during that time one of us was at the hospital and the other with my dad. There are 4 of us kids. This has taken a chunk out of our budget. My parents live about 100 miles away.

We have told the kids we will take them to St. Louis to see the American Idol concert and then to Branson. But it might be my DH taking them.

Taking care of my parents is taking a toll on my Fibromyalgia!

She was from around Portland. Oregon City/Clackamas (sp?) area. They are my favorite aunt and uncle so it was one of those things I had to go and say goodbye.

It was very sudden and quite a shock.

The upside is that my 9 yr old daughter has never been to Oregon so we took her to the tide pools, Mamouth Falls, the Dam, etc. It was soooo cold. That mountain air is so much colder then our Iowa air. We wore sweatshirts and jackets and my uncle and cousins wore short sleeve shirts.

I love Oregon and if it wasn't for all our family here I would seriously think about moving there. One beautiful state!
