Your way to selling eggs?

I don't write anything on them. The ladies that buy from me return thier cartons. I was selling for $2.50 a dozen but as of the New Year will be selling for $3.00 a dozen. Still cheaper than what you pay at the grocery store for brown eggs, organic or otherwise.

I send my 7 and 9 year old boys door to door on my block with half-dozens for a dollar. They get to keep .25 for each dollar. I only have 5 hens (and no rooster, not legal in my town) and my kids eat eggs for bref, so I usually have only one or 2 half-dozen boxes to send them out with on a Saturday.

I use recycled cartons and don't relabel them. The neighbor next door contributes boxes. Some of them are dozens, but she also provides half-dozens she and her friend buy from the hippy-food store.

My wife just lists ours on her facebook page and sells to her bowling league and we cant keep up. We sell about 12 dozen a week at $3.00 a dozen and are always running out before we meet everyone's order so we'll probably be raising our price to 3.50 a dozen for the one's she delivers to her bowling buddies and keep the ones picked up here at the farm at $3.00

i HAVE A ROOSTER IN WITH MY 30 GIRLS,I HAVE NEVER HAD BLOOD IN AN EGG.I SELL FOR 2.00 A DOZ. AND I AM NOT MAKING A PROFIT.I HAVE NO PROBLEM SELLING MINE.FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUY.

I sell quite a few to co-workers for $2.00/dz. Have my "regular" customers there. I give away to family. I have one rooster and 28 hens. I get white eggs (from California Whites) and brown eggs (from Buff Orpingtons). I have three Silkies (bantams) and they lay the little eggs so we use them at home. The larger breeds go through a lot of feed! I don't make any profit at all, but my chickens are "pets" too. Any money I receive is "egg money". I also get the questions, "do brown eggs taste different than white eggs?" It's fun educating co-workers about raising chickens (always learning more!) and I'm known as the "chicken lady" at work. I even have a framed picture of my flock (along with the grandkids and dogs) on my desk!

Oh, and I don't date them as everyone knows they're fresh. I do ask for the egg cartons back too.

so glad there are others out there that use Facebook!! I thought I was the only one!!
I also use it in the summer for my veggies. I always feel better knowing that it's friends buying instead of complete strangers coming up to my door.

I am just getting ready to start selling my excess eggs, but wanted to share what someone told me the other day. If you are near a marina, you should let it be known you have fresh, unwashed eggs. Many sailors love the unwashed eggs because not everyone has a refrigerator on their vessel and the fresh eggs keep longer. I haven't tried it but this gal is a big boater so I'm assuming she knows!
