Yucky backside and green breast flesh

One of our one year old Colombian Rock x layers had recently developed a prolapsed vent. Her backside was a terrible mess and resembled many of the pictures I have seen posted of vent gleek. After the suggested treatments didn't help we made the sad decision to cull her. When my husband cut into the breast area he discovered a bright green (he said lime coloured) section in the flesh. We were going to eat the meat but when he saw that he just disposed of the carcass.

We have raised Cornish Cross broilers for a number of years and we've never seen anything like that. Could the yucky bum and green flesh / spot be related? We thought we were just dealing with a badly prolapsed vent problem. Now I am worried that we might use our little flock of layers to whatever sickness she may have had.

Anyone ever have a similar find / issue?
