Yucky Treats???

Out of all the chicks I bought, none came from a hatchery. 2 had pasty butt once when they were about a week old.
They all were fed the same so there was no difference in them from the others.
Sometimes it just happens.

Four out of 25 chicks had pasty butt 2 days after we received from the Murray McMurray (one day old when we got them). According to the directions supplied by Murray - clean with warm water and remove the build up (which we did) and on the 3rd day sprinkle chick starter with baby chick grit like you salt your own food. You do not want a lot since they will fill up on grit instead of food. Pasty butt did not return and everyone is popping around and happy. We also received 28 Cornish Rocks at the same time and no pasty butt there at all.
