yummy.... not, what is this world coming too?

Modified foods is the future of our food supply unless we go back to growing everything ourselves. If you don't like the way this meat is being grown...grow your own

They will push for this just like they have pushed GMO down everyone's throats...quite literally. The solution is producing for ourselves. BackYardChickens should fertilize Back Yard Gardens

It's almost Spring folks...seed catalogs are coming in

Get busy being a part of the solution or well...eat test tube mystery meat

I think it is quite interesting.

We're approaching seven billion people on this planet and as more of them find economic success they are naturally going to want the things that such success brings with it. Such as improving their diet just as we're already seeing with India and China.

There isn't anyway we can produce enough naturally grown animal protein to supply the world with a typical America meat centered diet. There's not enough resources. For the folks who can't do any better and those who don't make up their minds before the product has even hit the market this might be a good approach.

There aren't enough resources to sustain a CAFO system. Meat can be very sustainable as long as you don't try to use a grain based feed system. Since most meat animals don't naturally eat grain in the first place...

Well given that a hundred years ago families often had 8 or more children and now a days people don't. I don't see the population continuing to climbing as quickly as expected. That is just me not based on research. I think this will be the way of the future and will be not only acceptable but just how it is done. It only makes sence with the fact that we will need crops to produce fuel instead of feeding livestock for food. It makes sence in that aspect cause it takes a lot of feed to raise livestock. However I wonder if this Vladimir Mironov, M.D., Ph.D eats this or is just pushing it on everyone else. Plus it would be of useful development for space travel.

I myself will continue to raise my own animals for food.

It been in science fiction for at least 50 years. It is also a logical out growth of tissue culture. I'm sure everyone on here has experienced the products of tissue culture through vaccines or medical tests. Yes it creepy, but is still muscle tissue, which is what meat is.

I just can't imagine this ever being cost effective, but it would provide a "meat" for those with ethical or religious issues with killing animals.

Well put I agree it would be a good alternative for people that can't stand the thought of eating things with faces.
