I sure hope things turn around soon. On a brighter note, the babies in the coop are doing very well out there. It was down to 40 degrees last night and they did great. No distressed, cold baby sounds over the monitor all during the night and when we looked in the window this morning, they were eating, drinking and running all over the coop. Most are 11 days old and six of them are 4 days old. We have a 125 watt heatlamp and a 150 watt red ultraviolet reptile heatlamp out there as well, both about 2 ft from the floor in the center of the room. I really wasn't ready to move the younger ones out there till I found Velvet's baby dead this morning. The scorpions dont go into the coop, so I feel they are safer out there than in the house after that sad occurrence.
Zane had his outdoor time today. I placed him in beside his waterer in the dappled shade. DH was trimming some dead wood from the grapevines in the garden and when I came back, Zane had somehow moved to the other side of the waterer, a few feet closer to his daddy. He sort of squat-walks, I think. Anyway, he did manage to maneuver himself to a different location. Not sure if that's any real improvement, but he's trying.
