I'm so sorry this is happening. It's going to be a big adjustment but I hope very much that with today's technology (prosthetics and the like), your dad will be still able to get around well. Until then, wishing him the smoothest possible time of it. You too.

Good news about Zane! Progress! He was placing his feet underneath him today! He lifted up on his right leg off his hock with his weight on his foot, trying to follow his mom out of the garden! There may yet be hope for my sweet Zaners yet! He was lifting his body really high up off the ground. His wings have lots of strength in them too. I hold him up in the air and he'll flap them and almost lift off, so I think his spine is probably okay. His color is better as well, although, his comb is still a bit curled over. I'm much more optimistic about Zane today!

My dad has a little circulation in his calf area of his leg that they didn't think he'd get back, but the foot is still "dead". They're doing therapy to see if they can get the circulation to go lower, so we don' t know if they will have to amputate just the foot or part of the foot.
