I got over 4 dozen today. can't complain. If we get the 12 hours of rainfall tomorrow that is forecast there will be new grass for the girls. I'm going to mow off there pasture tomorrow ahead of it so that it will come back with short new growth for them to feed on. I also will broadcast some turnip and mustard seed for added quality greens to improve the eggs they lay.

I don't think any of them have ever had a yolk. I'd love to hatch one.... That would be a cute chick.

Yeah I know. Must be rare. I'd never heard of a fairy egg until I got my chickens this time around. I wonder if they are more common in layers that were bred up to lay a lot fast early in their life span. My old line white rocks never laid one and the Delawares didn't as far as I know. It was only the high performance RIR girls and then about 1 out of 10 hens laid one. A hen's fairy egg like mine were closer to the size of a quarter in length. A little shorter than that but not a whole lot.
