Zebra finche eggs

Hello I have a pair of all white zebra finches who have raised 12 babies already and recently they laid 4 eggs and they never hatched after 2 weeks so as soon as I was going to remove them I looked into the nest and now there is 6 eggs so they laid new ones next to the old ones. I heard that bacteria can build up and I feel like it would damage the new eggs. Every time I candle their eggs they abandon them so what do I do? I don't have time to incubate eggs so I can't do that.

In my experience bad finch eggs will dry out (cause they are so small) and not cause problems for the other eggs.

Ok so they will eventually go away or what happens to them and if the eggs hatch and the bad eggs are there nothing will happen ? This has never happens to me because every clutch my birds have they eat the ones that don't hatch but they didn't do it this time. And I'm also worried about space too because there's 4 bad eggs and 2 new eggs and my female usually lays 6-8 eggs so I know she's not done laying.

The insides usually dry out so they become hollow, but if they are taking up too much space in the nest maybe it would be better to remove them.

One of the four old eggs hatched today ! I guess their just gunna have a huge clutch this time they already raised 12 babies in just 3 clutches

Hello I'm from Michigan ,
I'm not to sure what you should do but from raising cockiels when there eggs were so old I just took them out. I never touched my eggs and once they hatched I started feeding them from day one. every 2 to 3 hours and wow it was something with 2 babies. I now went out and got 2 male zebra finches just because I could . I was living with my mother-in-law and could not have anything except the dogs I already had. Well after calling around for 5 days I found a female about an hour and a half away. Went and got her, she was with 7 males and the owner told me she was a baby, white & would do well with my men. Well I got her home with in a week she started turning a tan and now she is a very lite gray. She laid 1 egg about 2 weeks after I got her so she was not a baby. and for being white I got her for only $13 I paid $17 for the male ziberas but any ways she laid it in there food dish so I removed it because she was not sitting . So now I am going to be looking for another cage incase she desides to have babies . Funny I have 2 nests in there cag and at time the one male will sleep with her but most of the time the 2 males sleep together. Not sure what to do about this too. But If you want your mama to lay l would not touch the eggs and let nature take its course. I;m new to all this so I'm not to sure to look for a bigger cage for free or cheep around me . But let me tell you I am learning so very much from the people on thee Chicken site or thread or what ever. I am doing a large coop & trying to deside on what kind of chickens I'm getting .Have fun with your birds I love mine They sleep in my bedroom with me . Craftychick62
