Our chick is finally unzipping....but he’s going downwards instead of up around the top of the egg. Is this ok???? This is my first time and first ever zipper so I have so many questions.

How'd it do? That's not normal, but it's probably fine. I wouldn't worry if it's zipping. I'm sure it's out by now.Our chick is finally unzipping....but he’s going downwards instead of up around the top of the egg. Is this ok???? Get it out then. Finish the zip for it and let it push out.It isn’t out. The shell is almost cracked all the way around (as in hairline crack) but he’s still trying to zip. He’s only managed to zip just under halfway in 3 hours.
I have no idea how to do that! Just pick the shell away? Won’t the membrane all dry out quickly and the cold air shock it?Get it out then. Finish the zip for it and let it push out.
Ok, go run a hot shower, take it in the bathroom and shut the door. Get some tweezers, and just start where he left off. Pick off little shell pieces. If you see any blood, stop. He really needs to cime out though. Just go in a ring and try to make it look how he had bern going. But don't keep going down, I would go around and make a cap, like this one. Let him push the cap off and put him back in the incubator.I have no idea how to do that! Just pick the shell away? Won’t the membrane all dry out quickly and the cold air shock it?
Definitely get him out. Here's the pic.First photo is where it started to zip. Second is the how far it has made it. View attachment 2134984View attachment 2134985
