Up to four little peeping fluff balls.
Have six more eggs that were still showing signs of life yesterday. I could hear peeps through two shells...how long should I wait for a pip from these guys?? I'm hoping to wake up to more!!
I read chicks can stay in the incubator up to 3 days after...
Wondering if anyone had ideas on why my chicks are hatching so late. Days 23-24. I Had given up hope and went and bought eight Chicks at the feed store, and now two have hatched and two more are zipping.
One chick fully hatched (had to assist, the poor thing was a bit stuck in the membrane).
One starting to zip.
One just pipped.
This is the beginning of day 23, so a bit later than I expected... I even went and bought 8 chicks at the feed store this morning!
I'm thinking I could get one or...
That's what I was thinking. I've had a hard timebeing the humidity, I think it the cheap Chinese incubator, but I haven't been able to get it above 56%
How does one wet the membrane?
I HAVE A PIP!!! Only one, but 1>zero! :)
Finally! Now hoping for more. The pip is on one of the question marked eggs too.
Can you typically hear cheeps after a pip, or am I crazy?!
Day 20 starts around 5pm PST. I won't be home until about 630 or 7, so hopefully they just hang out and wait for me to get home before any action starts.
I was able to get the humidity up to 52% before I had to leave for work this morning. This was with a soaked towel and an old cream cheese container filled with water. I'm hoping it goes up more, but if it didn't, will the eggs be okay?
I have a question about upping the humidity. I tried just adding more water to the bottom of the incubator, however, it never seems to get above about 47%. Does anyone have other methods they have used??
