It was so hard with the black faced EE mix-she is a shy one! Hopefully this shows closer. I don't think they have saddle feathers. Even the one I call a rooster doesn't seem to have them to me! I can't keep roosters so I have no experience. These are mixed breed birds I got from local backyard...

Okay see what you think of these 10 1/2 week olds being hens or cockerels?

I have four 10 week olds from a mixed breed flock and all I know is color of egg they came from! I bought fertile eggs and let broody mama hatch #1 I think is roo came out of dark terra-cotta egg; #2 was in green egg; # 3&4 brown eggs!

I have a few different breeds and one Speckled Sussex. I think they are such funny sleepers...

"She" was a Rooster! Sent him to a new home! Boo hoo

He started crowing a couple days ago at 22 weeks. He must have been a late bloomer! I had to find him a good home because we can't have roosters.

Is this a he or when? 20 weeks and no crowing!

Well Squishy is now 20 weeks old, so tell me if she still a she? It looks like tail saddle feathers to me but no crowing that I have heard!
