sorry it took me so long to respond....work has been crazy. I have 8 chickens. 1 ee hen, 1 ee roo (both 19 weeks) 2 silver laced wyandottes (18 weeks) 2 barred rocks (18 weeks) 2 black copper marrans (7 + months). Only my marans are laying right now. I will post a picture of the SLW's...

Any update on the SLW? I have 2 SLW's, and I am wondering about 1 as well. I keep hoping it is a hen... I posted a picture of it a few weeks ago, and I got a response of roo... bu I am still in denial. We shall see. Just hit 16 weeks and no crowing, although, my other SLW has no comb to speak...

The barred rock is 11 weeks old also. -Katy

The good ventilation in the open coop probably helps a lot with drying out the shavings

I like the idea of not having to go outside to get your eggs!

Thanks... maybe someday I will post pictures... no time for that either. I think summer vacation is wasted on my kids. I would make much better use of the time!

Looking Great! My coop too is a work in progress. The coop is done, but the yard is taking me a long time.... I am already cosidering the modifications/additions I want to make to the coop - or just add another coop...... Good luck getting the job complete.

The A frame would be better for snow load than the hoop. I would worry about the pvc getting brittle and breaking at the stress point (next to the coupling - which won't bend) - but them again.... I am a worrier. I have not personally tried this... hopefully someone who has will let you know...

This will be my first trip to chicenstock. I am looking to add to my flock. I have sent out one PM about availability on an earlier post. If that does not work out, are the chickens at the event generally pre-sold? I would really like to buy from an individual instead of one of the large...

I ended up with 1 pullet and 1 roo... may have to get more pullets next year. I want the pretty eggs!!!
