I really wish we would've built a bigger coop. We talk about the possibility of doing that but we have other things we need to do first that take priority since we can "make do" with what we have got to work with now. The past couple of weeks have been an emotional roller coaster. We got a call...
I let Daisy and the littles our to forage and scratch and explore and everything is going great. None of the other older birds pay them any mind. One of the littles got a little too close of my Buff Orpington space and got a peck for it but other than that, everyone has been great! I check on...
Just a little update on the baby chicks. They are 5 days old and are thriving. I still haven’t come up with names yet.... but I will. Oh the cuteness! :love
I opened the doors of the coop and let Daisy and the babies come out to the yard. There was some curiosity from the others. Daisy took on...
Chickens were at the gate of their pen trying to see what this creature was. Lucky for them it was just a groundhog just plodding along near by. I’ve never seen one up this close to the house. Normally it hangs closer around the creek and is quite elusive.
Hubby just went up to check mail. He saw and heard the turkeys and grabbed a video. They are quick and hard to see but you make out them rustling around. And you can definitely hear them. :love
We were leaving one day to go in to town for something and as we were coming up our driveway we ran across a wild turkey hen and her babies. Pic isn’t the best but all I have is my phone. We ended up turning out to the road and slowly tried to shoo them back to the grass area by our driveway...

I checked in on Daisy this morning when we let the other chickens and ducks out. We have a waterer in the covered run part and that is where I put her food in as well. She didn't want to come out. We had some errands to run and while we were out we stopped by Rural King. It is a good thing it is...
Ok y'all... my hubby was trying to look up "bobcat calls" and what we heard did NOT sound like what we heard and recorded. I told him... look up fox calls.... BAM! Exact sound. My neighbors don't know what the heck they're talking about! I already knew that I didn't know what it was. I...
It was a very good thing you did. Good on your mom! Dr's pissed me off some times. I understand they get tired and this is a crazy time we live in right now but you took an oath to do no harm, not give up because you don't feel like trying to figure it out. 🤬 I'll be keeping your grandma in my...
