Got my first brahma egg yesterday and I figured out who laid it today :) my splash buff columbian pullet (buff with splash instead of black) was sitting and arranging herself a nice little nest.
the little butt in the top pic of him is the runt pullet. she is so tiny next to him, may put her in with my silkies when I divide them up in a few months. the older girls hatched early last summer and are 5.5-6lbs now, so they still have some growing to do.they are teasing me with those little...
got some better pics today
Millie the Blue laced pullet
Annie the Splash Columbian buff (or whatever its called) pullet
Clarabelle the other splash Columbian buff
Emily the splash laced pullet
Thomas, he's the one I kept out of the 2 hatched in October

Sorry for the zillion pics ;)
Darkest pullet and cockerel 1
would this be lacing or penciling?
Cockerel 1 (Thomas) and a couple pullets
I think this is cockerel 2 (James)
I have a 3 year old son that loves Thomas the train so the brahmas are Thomas, James, Emily, millie, annie...
:) If its female I can send it to my mom's for a layer, but she wants nothing that could be a rooster. The two that are roosters, one has some funny toes on one foot (I guess from incubation) but He is also smaller than the other. Not breeding for show, but I do want to stay as close to the...
thank you
I need a closer head pic, but this little guy was one of the 3 slower to feather babies, it did get back feathers sooner than the other two though. its lighter winged than the other two and no waddles yet, so I am thinking its female. its also a lot smaller than the other 5. what do...
yea, I meant penciling, just forgot the word. I still go back and forth on that one, the only reason I think cockerel is its pinker in the face than the others and is starting to get waddles. the two bigger buffs are definitely cockerels, I would be really happy if its just an early maturing...
this is the little laced one that I think is a cockerel. he's the lightest laced of the three laced ones. I'm debating on keeping him or one of the correct colored buffs, guess it depends on who is nicer.
lightly laced and normal buff boys
His lacing, he's just a bit darker on wings than...
The mostly red ones are the splash columbians out of his blue (buff based) columbian project. I can't wait until my buff rooster gets big enough to breed them and we'll have the blue buff columbian (or whatever their name is). I am super lucky to live with an hour or so from him. The girls I...
Thanks, I hope for more like her soon. I got her, the blue laced and 2 splash columbians from big medicine last fall. They are really starting to fill out now.
They were buff hatching eggs from ebay. The seller also had laced bird, but swears they couldn't have gotten mixed up (yea right). one of the lighter laced ones has a bit of waddle growth, but not much. I need to get some good close ups on them, there are 2 that I'm still undecided on. The...
They were supposed to be buff, but they seem to have a laced bird in the background. Three had some lacing and 3 had none, the laced ones feathered faster.
