How big is you pen and run?
Chris
16 x 18.
I'll try to get pics tomorrow or Tuesday.
Now how much of that is housing and how much of that is run?
The "standard" is 4 square feet indoor and 10 square feet of run for...

Well I went out and checked. the only one with green tint to the legs is the other pullet. The other 5 are all males with white feet. Does that mean they got it from the hen or the roo??
The rooster is not pure for leg color and not pure bred.

That green leg thing came up when I crossed my BO roo with a Leghorn hen. Two of the chicks had green legs. Ones faded out and the other is dark green. With that white body it really looks wierd. She is 11 wks old now
Please don't take this the wrong way but, this makes me think...

Hatcheries have been crossing Leghorn blood into breeds for years. The typical production has Leghorn blood in them.
The thing is that the Titra Tint is more than just a Leghorn / R.I. Red cross, you wont get Greenish legs and Mottled legs from that cross.
I'm betting they have Ancona...

I believe you. more and more people have chicks that have black feathering. Are Ancona noisy birds? because mine sure do alot of talking....more than just bwak bwak bwak. But hey I'm new to chickens maybe they all make the same noises as mine bwak, cluck, purr, bark, growling kind of...

BTW, there is no such breed as a "longhorn" chicken. Google it...if you don't believe me
Who said anything about a, "longhorn" breed of chicken?
The Breed is a Leghorn (as in the town of Leghorn in Italy)
http://www.theleghornclub.com/...
There is one thing that keep me from believing that there purely a Leghorn x RIR cross The leg color of some of the chicks. Some of the chick have a greenish color to shanks with some blacks on there shanks also. You don't get that from crossing two Yellow legged fowl. There has to be more in...
If you do some crossing between a White Leghorn, Ancona and a Rhode Island Red you will get a White fowl that has some Gold leakage as adults and as chicks they would be White (some with Black spots), some having Black spots on the feet and shanks also they would be Sex-linked.

The spots has nothing to do with the sex I have seen the Roosters and the Hens have Black spots, I believe it is a "breed" trite and you are correct Pullet is a young Female.
Chris
Why would the Black dots have to come from a permanent marker, during the sexing, why couldn't be a "breed" trite?
Breed's that are white unicolor pied/mottled like a Exchequer Leghorn are born White with small Black spots on them.

Chris09, you are welcome to argue the matter with the hatchery who has allegedly confirmed they are longhorn/RIR crosses.
Now are you stating that they are a Leghorn/ R.I. Red cross or a Leghorn/ R.I. White cross as in you post #175?
And what hatchery said that they were a Leghorn...

Perhaps you did not notice, but I did not say RED in my post and perhaps you are unaware that there is a white RI.
First of RI is just a abbreviation Rhode Island, Not a Rhode Island White (R.I. White) so I amused the you were referring to the Rhode Island Red because there is not one...
