I bought a trio this past Sunday, September 17. They are suppose to be around a year old. He has yet to crow nor have I seen him try to mount any of the hens that would be his harem. Any suggestions? Is he younger than I was told which is what I’m beginning to believe?
...and his wife took it to her when they went up. They say she loves it, glad to hear that.
My problem is I have yet to receive a thank you, kiss my *** or anything. I'm not asking for a card or anything. A freaking text message, phone call or even a shout out on FB would be fine. ( I know...
I made the two hour road trip today to get another RBC. I already had one, Rosalie, is about a year old. The one we got today appears to be a male ( not that it matters ) and re-named him Emmett.
He's not in the best of shape as the cage they had was much too small for a bird that size and...
Every time I get the fly swatter out she comes running and meowing. She wants you to pet her with it! I have no idea who started this with her as we got her from a rescue. But this is just wrong, makes me feel guilty since she runs to your feet and rolls over.
edited because of my fat...
First, has anyone heard from Kristenhall?? I know the area where she lives was hit very hard. I am hoping and praying she is okay.

I saw my first hummingbird of the year this morning . I came in the house, made fresh food, got the feeders out of storage. Now they are hanging on my porch.
A little back story. My aunt ask me what we where doing with the old farm house on our farm. She wanted to rent it. We actually let them use it free of rent or deposit, all they had to do was the up keep of the house and the surrounding yard. Plus pay for their own utilities.
So here is where...

We were sitting here just listening to Petie chirp and talk up a storm. All of a sudden my husband says what is he doing? I listen to him for a minute he has learned the "egg song".
Not sure if Rosalie, our rose breasted cockatoo will pick it up as she is still too young to talk.
Just found one of my hens with 3/4 of her wing ripped off ( it is still hanging on with about a 1/4 inch of muscle), other than shock she appears to be fine. She is walking around. I've brought her in the house. My question is should i just bandage the wing up to her for a couple of days then...

Tonight after I had "retired" to my room to relax for the night I heard the doorbell ring. I didn't answer it, this is not the first time this has happened. If it is well after dark and I'm not expecting you I am not NOT going to answer that door and if I am feeling generous enough to answer you...
My daughter came home this afternoon saying that one of her friends mother was going to buy a house on our street. The "mom" found the house that she liked ( there are three for sale at the moment ) and was all set to buy said house, til she found out that someone had chickens Ah that would...
At about five minutes til six this morning our black Japanese bantam decided he was a rooster after all, it was a squeaky little crow that he attempted three times. He's fourteen weeks old and still too small to put out with the flock. When we do he just puffs up and tries to peck the girls...
