If anyone has a Hova Bator Incubator please contact me. It would be a plus if it came with an egg turner and air circulator. Message me if you have one. Thanks everyone!
I am home from summer and do not have any income since I work a volunteer job. Cash is running low and I want to be entrepreneurial and do something with my 2 acre backyard. Whether it be growing something / selling it or building something / selling it, I want to be productive with my time and...
I feel there will be 2 results stemming from cage bans:
1) Chickens will live a more natural and healthy lifestyle.
2) It will open up room for other businesses to enter into the market because the huge suppliers will not keep up at the same pace.
What do you people feel will happen? If it...
I am looking to keep up with all the latest news within the egg industry and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. For instance, I would like to know what is going on to prevent battery cages for chickens. That is just one topic I would like to keep up on.
If anyone has a...
Currently, I am a junior at the University of Connecticut. I really want to start up a business of my own while I am still in college. I have tried many things so far but nothing seems to fully work.
Does anyone have any ideas? The sky is the limit. I am not really looking for the simple stuff...
I know the sportsman holds 270 chicken eggs but what is the next biggest incubator out there?
I am looking for bigger incubators than that but not as big as the commercial grade where they hold like 5,000 eggs at once.
I noticed that Murray McMurray Hatchery is always limited with their selection of chicks. With that said, I feel that there is room for other hatcheries to enter into the mix.

1) How long do fertile eggs last for after they are laid?
2) What do I store...

Which would you guys recommend?
I do realize that if I buy them from a typical hatchery that they will be vaccinated where I probably won't put any chemicals in them if I...
For those of you who sell your eggs to farmers markets, are you making any money doing it? Or would it make sense to try and sell them yourself?
I just figured the farmers markets already have a customer base and I could feed off that but I would have to sell my eggs for lower prices.
What...
1) What is the best type of bird for meat purposes?
2) How many weeks must you wait until they are worthy for the processing plant?
Does anyone else out there raise day-old chicks for meat?
Does anyone here make their own pickles? I am looking into starting my own pickle company and was curious what all of your thoughts are. Please enlighten me! Lol.
Also, I was debating growing my own cucumbers or just buying them from a cucumber supplier (preferably not the supermarket).
I am looking to start up a small scale business somewhere in agriculture. I have a very strong passion for agriculture and know lots about chickens. I am willing to learn about cows or any other type of animal raising needed to startup a business. Here are the ideas I have thought of:
