Earlier this year, I started raising backyard chickens. I started with 6 black silkies, however, 3 of them died. Then, because of their deaths, I got 5 more chicks (a buff cochin, a white frizzle cochin, and 3 silkies), 1 of them died. After those grew up over the summer, I've loved keeping...
I noticed worms in one of my 6 week old chick's poop, so naturally I came to byc to look up wormers! I read a thread about Valbazen, and was wondering, Is it safe to use on my chicks? Thanks!
I have a cochin frizzle chick (that's a boy :3 ) that flies at other chicks and jumps on them and things. I think after observing him for a while now that he was just establishing the pecking order. Just my guess!
I have some (almost) pullet banties that are 8 weeks, 7 weeks, and a 6 week. We let them out one day (in their soon to be coop) to see how they reacted. They LOVED it! We brought them back in that night, and they haven't been out since. ( This was last saturday) Now they try to fly around in...
"They're flying now!"
"The water got knocked over... again.."
"Did you wash your hands after playing with the girls?"
"Shhhhhh don't let them know we ate chicken for dinner! It'll hurt their feelings!"
So happy to hear that! She looks gorgeous. She does look like a leghorn to me! When she starts laying again, you'll be able to tell better by her eggs.
