    My chickens LOVE cucumbers, warm oatmeal (we live in Alaska) and watermelon. They arent huge on lettuce or kale...maybe in a few months when they havent seen grass in a while! ;)

    My Black sex link occassionally lays a dinosaur egg too! It makes me feel bad! hahaha I love it though because my choc. chip cookie recipe calls for one egg and one yolk, and my double yolk eggs work perfectly! ;)

    4 week old chick acting weird....

    As long as you keep them warm, give them room and lots of light they will lay all winter. We had nothing but double yolkers growing up on the Kenai Peninsula (not as dark but we get pretty darn dark and drop to -20 below often). Rhode Island Reds are WONDERFUL in Alaska...cold hardy and lay...
