Also guys. School is hard this year. It could be that I am going onto my 3rd straight first day of school with preschoolers or that this year just sucks but it is hard. So remember all those teachers in your lives and bring them a drink and/or chocolate. Ding dong ditch is even ok! Most of us...
1st day if school. I am wiped. I have to do the first day 2 more times this week. But all my 4 years kept either a mask or face shield on all day when needed. So now I have hope for Thursday and Friday but not so much with a group of 3s tomorrow. At least there are only 8 tomorrow. I love...
Winger is near me. I have heard good things about the sales but have never attended. Most people around me bring animals there so I would think there should be plenty of animals. If you are going to the sale Winger is where you are going, it is implied.
We have rows of black walnut trees which we planted 17 years ago. We even get walnuts. Not all of them have grown as well as some. Which I find odd. They are all in the same area of our yard but the one end of the row really grew well and the other did not.
Yes! This is how our lake is where the camper is set up. But not quite as secluded as where yours is situated. We share our little “campground” with friends.
It does appear that my dominque hatch was close to 50/50 male/female. I rehomed one boy already and will be sending another of soon. I do believe it was 7 boys and 6 girls. I only want the girls. I also have just as many boys in an older batch of barnyard mixes. Orrock township seems to like...
I also have been bringing in the almost ripe. I think birds, not chickens, are getting them or mice. With plenty of farm cats running about that really shouldn’t be a problem but even exposed potatoes have been nibbles on. While the chickens love a ripe tomato I have them fenced in while the...
Well all those farmhouse decor magazine layouts should see what a “farmhouse” really looks like during “garden is all ready at the same time” time of year. My kitchen is over flowing with produce ready to be processed. This afternoon/evening was freezing two laundry baskets of corn(before the...
Man that is not fun. I went out last night and found a dead hen in the coop. She had been acting funny for a week or so but no obvious signs of any sickness when I would pick her up and check her out. Everyone else in the coop looks fine though.
I get large onions. We softened up our ground quite a bit but dumping all the leaves and grass clippings on it and filling it in for a couple years. I don’t dig around or anything. I do get some small ones but most are pretty big. Maybe not softballs but some are close.
On Thursday I with 4/5 children traveled to my mom’s house in Wisconsin. While there the kids swam in her pool played with cousins and we spun honey and helped in the garden. It was good to go home for a few days. The twins stayed with her and Ashlyn went to stay with a friend. So I am now down...
The chick that was so light colored was found dead. I don’t know how or why. Just dead. It never seemed sick either. Oh well. The others are growing and wings are feathering out. It will be interesting to figure out how many boys and girls there are.
I think we will be heading to the lake this...
