Oh really? I had in mind that they can live to 15-20 years of age. And I’ve been going over and over what we could have done differently which may have helped her 😢
Yes - that’s what we thought too. We have found some large lumps on our other girl after giving her a thorough check over so we...
Thank you for responding.
I’ll try and get a close one of it, but you can see the positioning here. She’s gone through/ finishing her moult, and I’ve read what I can, which has made me wonder whether it could be an infection from an ingrowing feather. But I’m thinking something to do with...
What an awful week! Two days ago I went to let my two beautiful girls out in the morning, to find one of them had died in the night. She was fine the day before so it was a complete shock. They are almost 7 years old so I expected her to be with us much longer.
I’ve been bringing the other...
I’m heartbroken to say that I found one of my ducks had died during the night. I had both of my girls from 3 days old and they were my first babies. Since then we have got dogs and a human baby, but I’m so so upset to have lost one of my girls so suddenly. She was fine yesterday so it was such a...
Hi everybody! I'm not new to BYC but in usually on the duck threads... Just came across this thread whilst trying to find an answer on the Internet...
My khaki Campbell girl who is 1 and a half years old has been laying strangely for the last month or so. She is still generally laying a hard...
I know there are many threads on this topic but none seem to answer my questions. Jemima is on and a half years old and is an Aylsbury. She has laid an egg a day since she first began but for the past 3 days she has laid eggs with soft/no shells. It's just the membrane holding them together...
I'm Derbyshire and take mine to Bakewell vets- they seem to know what they're doing. You need to see which vets deal with farm animals as well as standard pets
Oh my goddddd!!!! I think this 'teenage stage' is so cute and their little chicken wings are hilarious!!!!
This was rascal as a teen! They used to lay on my knee on a towel every evening and sleep, whilst I watched a film
Your photos make me want more this year I could easily turn into a mad...
I only have one other duck apart from my khaki and my khaki just seems the opposite to skittish! She's completely oblivious to everything around in in comparison to the Aylsbury who just eyeballs anything that moves. And when either my husband or I try to herd them anywhere, my khaki just squats...
Yesssss! Absolutely khaki Campbell!!! Rascal lays every day, she's so pretty, hilarious and amazingly tame!
She was even my parrot for Halloween And sat there for a whole photo shoot!
I'm sure they will if you spend time with them every day! Ours were especially tame in summer when we were in the garden every day with them! They sunbathed with us whenever we were laying out on the towels, came running when we whistled them over and Rascal (the khaki) hopped on my knee at the...
I'm in love
My khaki was always more active than my Aylsbury and more oblivious to what was going on around her. She LOVES cuddles too which my Aylsbury isn't so keen on! I wish they didn't poo and that I could have them as house pets! X
Almost the end of the month for the non high risk areas
The ducks beaks are looking slightly swollen/ sore right at the top. It's more noticeable on Jemima with her light coloured beak and she seems to have a few more black dots than usual around her nostrils. Could it be a fungal infection? X
