    New Hampshire!

Hello New Hampshire! I am looking for a muscovy duck. Just one will do. We have a single female muscovy and she's kind of lonely. Does anyone have a female muscovy to sell that could be her friend? Thanks!

    New Hampshire!

Hi there! I have three ducks I am looking to re-home. They are crossbred, but come from various layer breeds, predominantly khaki campbell and ancona. They are just under one year old and laying strong. Two are females, one is male. You could take just the pair of females, or all three...

I posted this a couple of weeks ago, I will copy and paste because you might find it useful as a way to get rid of those cockerels. ;) The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) is a raptor rehabilitation center in Quechee, VT. They take in hawks, eagles, owls, falcons, etc. that have...

You might try sending a PM to learycow, who lives just over in Maine and has lots of ducks, I believe!

They accept ANY age or size. In fact, they REALLY appreciate day-old chicks, because the yolk sac is still intact and this is incredibly nutritious for the raptors. o if you have lots of extra sex-linked male day old chicks, they would absolutely love to hear from you. Because Dominiques can be...

Hey, one of my hens did the same thing today, haha! Egg on the right is a regular hen egg, middle is a turkey egg, and on the left is an egg laid by my smallest hen in the whole flock! Bet she was relieved, heh!

We had our first hatch of the season this weekend, so here's a little cutie from the hatch. No, she didn't come out of the shell wearing the hat. We had to loan that to her. ;)

    New Hampshire!

So here's my report on the NPIP testing! The tech from the state came this morning, I was at work but the hubby handled everything here at home. He said she was very nice, it was the same woman who came out last year, too. He said she did ask questions about sanitation. Because it was SO cold...

    New Hampshire!

That's very interesting, puglady. My NPIP testing was in January last year, so that's why I scheduled it again, but they did not ask to see any of that stuff when they came last January (and I did apply for the NPIP number, I am 12-222). It was just the tech who drew all the samples from the...

We do exactly what you've said here - heated water dishes but no supplemental heat. Chickens come with their own down coats. Some years I have used supplemental lights to keep the girls laying at a better rate, but this year we're just letting everyone molt naturally and come back into lay...
